Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs) for species and habitats have a number of associated ‘Research and Monitoring’ targets. However, many of the organisations that have signed up to help achieve these targets are often limited by time and resources, and in many cases by a need to enhance their research and analysis capacity. ERT Conservation received five years of funding from Wessex Water to deliver a project to address this difficult issue.
Aims
Through a series of bespoke training events, to support a group of thirty conservation practitioners in the south west of England to develop a wide range of user-led research, monitoring and analytical skills.
Partners
Outputs
Training courses and training material.
Outcomes
Enhanced capacity in individuals and organisations to undertake research and monitoring, and to utilise data from these activities to underpin and evaluate conservation actions.
